Melissa Bochner attended the University of Adelaide, graduating in 1989. She trained in General Surgery in NSW and attained her Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 1995. Following this she completed a Master of Surgery Research degree at the University of Sydney. Melissa underwent 2 years of specialised post Fellowship training in Breast and Endocrine Surgery initially at the Royal Adelaide Hospital and then at the Edinburgh Breast Unit before returning to Adelaide to commence practice in 2000.
She has appointments as a Breast and Endocrine Surgeon at the Royal Adelaide Hospital and St Andrews Private Hospital, as well as at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital.
She spent over 10 years as a specialist surgeon at BreastScreen SA and is a clinical titleholder at the University of Adelaide.
She is member of the Breast, Endocrine, and Women in Surgery Sections of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, as well as a member of Breast SurgANZ, the International Association of Endocrine Surgeons and Breast Surgery International.
Melissa has an interest in research and teaching and is a guest reviewer for a number of peer reviewed journals.
