At 333 South Terrace we also provide the services of our Breast Care Nurse, Ashley, who can assist with counselling and support during your treatment with your individual surgeon.
Ashley initially started nursing at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Woodville but graduated as a Registered Nurse at Epworth Hospital in Richmond Victoria in 1983. She had developed an interest in women’s health during her training and subsequently worked at The Royal Women’s Hospital in Melbourne. Here she completed a Certificate in Gynaecological Nursing followed by a Certificate in Family Planning at The Family Planning Association Victoria. Following this Ashley commenced working in reproductive medicine as a clinical nurse for approximately 10 years having time off to have her two children.
On return to Adelaide Ashley worked in private gynaecological practices as a practice nurse gaining experience in gynaecological oncology. In 2008 she started working at this practice as both practice manager and nurse. Recently Ashley completed her Graduate Certificate in Breast Cancer Nursing through the Australian College of Nursing.
Ashley has a special interest in counselling patients and their families. Ashley’s role is centred around an individual’s breast cancer experience through practical advocacy and emotional support.
